Claim for compensation for a trader’s clientele – Rejection of the claim

The law firm “Spilios Spiliopoulos and Partners” acts and represents the company “SFAKIANAKIS SA” in the litigation against the customer compensation claim brought by a former official dealer of its network.
The Athens Multi-Member Court of First Instance, in its decision number 826/2018, ruled that the former trader is not entitled to customer compensation because he was acting as a simple distributor and not as the exclusive distributor of SFAKIANAKIS SA. In addition, the trader’s claim for damages for non-material damage was rejected because it was not proven that the complaint was accompanied by defamatory statements against him and that his name and reputation were damaged.
