Processing of personal data by Teiresias SA, pursuant to Law 3471/06.

by spiliopouloslaw / Monday, 06 June 2016 / Published in CASES

6.6.2016 – The law firm “Spilios Spiliopoulos and Associates” is acting on behalf of a large public insurance company, advising on the company’s rights in the context of the processing of its personal data by Teiresias SA under Law 3471/06.
Under the Personal Data Protection Act (Articles 11 and 12 of Law 3471/06), Tiresias S.A. (as the data controller) is required to inform the data subject of the commencement of processing of their data. On the other hand, in order for a third party company/individual to have access to the Teiresias database, it must inform the data subject that it wishes to access the Teiresias database. If the data subject does not sign the notification form, the third party will not have access to the Teiresias database. In any case, the company (subject of processing) has the right to view and check the data held by Teiresias and, if it finds inaccuracies, to lodge objections with Teiresias SA, which will suspend the transmission of data to third parties who are recipients of Teiresias SA data.
