Provision of Legal Services and Judicial Representation of Policyholders of the Insurance Companies in Liquidation, ASPIS PRONIA S.A. and COMMERCIAL VALUE S.A.

by spiliopouloslaw / Monday, 24 April 2017 / Published in CASES

24.4.2017 – The law firm “Spilios Spiliopoulos and Associates” provides full legal support and successfully represents groups of policyholders at the Single-Member Court of First Instance in Athens, during the adjudication of Objections against the ranking tables of insurance claims published by the special liquidator of the insurance companies in liquidation, ASPIS PRONIA S.A. and COMMERCIAL VALUE S.A.

By virtue of decisions no. 156/21.9.2009 and 176/25-2-2010 of the Private Insurance Supervision Committee (EPIA) (Government Gazette 11292/2009, Series A.E. & E.P.E.), the operating licenses of the public limited insurance companies ASPIS PRONIA LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY and COMMERCIAL VALUE INSURANCE COMPANY were revoked, resulting in these companies being placed under a special insurance liquidation regime, in accordance with the specific legal provisions of Decree Law 400/1970.
Following numerous requests from policyholders, the law firm “Spilios Spiliopoulos and Associates” systematically pursued and adjudicated Objections before the Single-Member Court of First Instance in Athens, based on Decree Law 400/1970, against the ranking tables of claims for these companies in liquidation. This effort successfully contributed to the judicial securing and gradual collection of claims from a large number of policyholders who were not included in these tables, with the total amount exceeding 100,000 euros.
